Plasma/kwin has some nightlight/colorcorrection code built into the compositor.
On X11 you can suspend that w/ SHIFT+Alt+F12, does that change anything?

The only other thing that's maybe changing anything would be powerdevil in case your output supports DDC backlight control (though you'd see that in the OSD - ideally)

No I tested on x11 and for good measure on wayland but nothing happened. Any other way to disable it or perhaps enable it to see if it works?

You cannot disable the compositor on wayland, on X11 you should notice that the windows lose shadows and translucency?
If it's not the compositor feature, you'd look at powerdevil or https://archlinux.org/packages/extra/x86_64/colord-kde/

Also please post "xrandr --verbose" from KDE and cinnamon, though, technical question:

Done installing mint-cinnamon

Did you install linux-mint (the distribution) or did you install cinnamon on archlinux?
In the former case, you might simply use a different kernel or nouveau instead of nvidia or whatnot - this would not at all mean that it's plasma related.

Did you install linux-mint (the distribution) or did you install cinnamon on archlinux?

The distribution since i had a left over hard drive that was free to use.
Ill try different kernels, nouveau and looking at powerdevil and report any findings.

Ok found the issue as to why the "shadow" effect on the windows didn't happen before and thats because it wanted right shift instead of left, figured that out by checking the system keyboard binds but still didn't change anything on the display just the shadows on the window panels that now makes any non-system program have a black outline around the window. Changed the kernels nothing happened so I decided to bite the bullet and install cinnamon as a second DE (considering from my experience having two desktop environments can cause issues) and just like in my mint hard drive the display looks far far more better though the color profiles (like in mint) don't apply on the display but on apps only for some reason so this is certainly a issue that something in plasma causes maybe a conflict with a program. Cinnamon doesn't have good wayland support so that would be a no from me sad

I like KDE, everything works except the display for now.

One question, if I want to go with the nuclear option and reset arch how to I do that without having to format all partitions and starting for scratch? Is there an option where it delete everything and bring me to the installation page (picking DE, installing apps etc etc).

That's why you'd check something that barely does anything (but managing your windows) - like openbox - and see what the colors look with that.

I'm trying to isolate the cause, not to sell you a desktop environment big_smile

Sorry about that, I installed openbox and I login with both KDE/openbox and openbox and with kde/openbox its the same and with openbox its just a grey screen that I can only access the internet by right click the rest it says there are not directories so I can't test with the display.

Also in cinnamon by default the display is good, brightness is correct and colors too while on kde they are not.

openbox comes with a session .desktop entry that you can start from your DM, otherwise please don't run X11 as root, let alone sudo.
Wrt your edit "KDE/openbox" defeats the purpose and w/ only openbox, start an xterm or whatever and launch whatever (NON KDE!) stuff you want from there.

Ok so I reinstalled Arch (since i kinda wanted it since I had a lot of files and it would be faster to just save the most important ones and delete the rest via a reinstall) and its fixed. The display comes out as I want it so I guess its solved don't know what might had caused it but yea its done. Thanks a lot for the help, if something comes out by reinstalling the programs (what possibly caused it) Ill inform.
