Suddenly a few months ago (around July) I stopped being able to switch to TTYs from Plasma by using the Ctrl+Alt+Fn keyboard shortcut. When I press the keys nothing happens as if I didn't even press them at all.
I can run `sudo chvt #` and get into tty{3..6} then use Alt+Fn to switch to any of the sessions including back to SDDM or back to Plasma (but once I'm back in either I can't switch out again).
I have SDDM set up to use kwin_wayland (using the config in the wiki), and also have the same problem from in there. I tried removing --no-global-shortcuts etc and no difference. If I remove the config and let it use Xorg as the default then I can switch out of it into TTYs just fine, until I start Plasma.
If I start Plasma in Xorg then the shortcuts work. It seems to be a problem exclusively with kwin_wayland.
As far as I can tell there is no global shortcut set for ctrl+alt as I have seen in similar issues. I have tried changing the keyboard model, "Alt and Win behaviour" and "Special keys handled in the server" options in the keyboard KCM to no avail.
Any ideas on what's wrong here? Obviously it's not so useful only being able to use chvt when something locks up... right now I have to SysRq + E/I and kill everything to get back to a working desktop.
