Because I always forget how to create a data RAID I wrote down how I did it last time, and as these things happen the write-up got out of hand somewhat, and it got to a point where it may be useful for other people as well.
The guide is opinionated insofar as it recommends not partitioning the member disks as I perceive that to cause more harm than good.
Instead it demonstrates how to use the "mdadm --size=..." option.
It is intended to be thorough enough to help someone create and understand their first RAID on Linux.
