Unexpected shutdown

I am using a laptop and it keeps black out after running for a while. At first, all fans go full speed, no response from GUI (using xfce4). After 1 or 2 minutes, the computer would totally black out. System could boot normally after it.

The journal is here https://dpaste.com/ENQGGHWX8. But it seems to show nothing related to shutdown issue and seems to be missing entries for about 2 hours.  I don't know what's going on here. Any help would be appreciated!

Re: Unexpected shutdown

Nothing really sticking out in the journal which command did you use? if wanting to check after a reboot you'd need

sudo journalctl -b-1

Seeing as you're using XFCE there are some reports that the current version of xfce4-settings has a bug when DPMS kicks in and screens should get restored, see https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php … 0#p2219070 and maybe try xfce4-settings-git from the AUR

Re: Unexpected shutdown

Yes, this is the output of

sudo journalctl -b -1

This reminds me the bug usually happens after I set

sudo xset s off

to turn auto sleep off. And I followed Arch Linux Forums DPMS section 2.1 to disable DPMS when install arch. I am trying to set netconsole to fetch journal. I'll going to replace it with xfce4-settings-git. Thanks a lot!
