Hi. Ten years ago I installed Arch on this laptop and it's been working fine (new battery, display and keyboard).
Since a few weeks ago, I can't say for sure when, the mouse pointer goes into a strange mode some times.
When this happens, it moves up and down by itself, also clicking on things. This lasts maybe 10 or 15 seconds. I get out of this weird mode by right clicking repeatedly. It can be risky because windows can get closed, or the code I'm writing could be altered, etc. depending on where clicks happen.
I get the impression (but I'm not sure) that it is replaying my recent actions. As if the mouse actions have been stored in a buffer and then they happen again. While it happens, CPU usage is not high (according to btop).
I suspect what triggers it is related to high CPU or GPU usage: I opened shadertoy.com, displayed a shader that was rendering at 6 FPS, and after closing it, the weird behavior started. As if it had not been able to draw the screen at the right frame rate while GPU was maxed out, and then it tries to catch up replaying missed events.
This did not happen before. Do you suggest trying with a previous kernel? I've never done that but I can figure out how.

I forgot to add (I just noticed) that sometimes the mouse pointer freezes. It stops moving. I get it back by clicking repeatedly and much patiente.

Can you share the dmesg log after you experience this issue?

The only thing I see in dmesg right now after the issue is this:
perf: interrupt took too long (2501 > 2500), lowering kernel.perf_event_max_sample_rate to 79800But most of the times there's nothing new in dmesg when it happens.
I mentioned high CPU or GPU might be related, but I don't think so anymore. It happens every few minutes.
