Howdy! I have recently (1 month old) installed arch on my gaming pc, and I have run into some issues with steam. I have found a few people having this issue, but I only see people with n-videa gpu's. I do not beleive I did anything to trigger this issue, but from what I have seen, it is graphics driver related. I beleive it is most likely due to my monitor setup. too free up my graphics card, I have a primary monitor running through the gpu, and a secondary 720p monitor running through cpu integrated graphics.
Tried solutions:
1. i tried to use a steam preload file in order to load better? I am not exactly sure what it does. people with similar issues said it was because the steam(runtime) was desgined for ubuntu, so running it elsewhere could cause issues if you do not use this preload.
2. I ran steam in terminal, this was the output:
[morriswell@OscarsarchgamingPC ~]$ steam
steam.sh[10860]: Running Steam on arch rolling 64-bit
steam.sh[10860]: STEAM_RUNTIME is enabled automatically
setup.sh[10907]: Steam runtime environment up-to-date!
steam.sh[10860]: Steam client's requirements are satisfied

The glx errors seem to be the primary cause.
I found that when I use minecraft, The computer only uses my integrated graphics.
I would be willing to just switch to single monitor, or dual through just the one graphics card and not use the integrated graphics, but I do not know how. I tried to find info on removing mesa graphics drivers, or using proprietary drivers, but it does not work.

I can't figure out how to run steam with DRI_PRIME=1. When I googled it, I only saw how to run games with DRI_Prime=1, not how to open steam with it.
I did run the command glxinfo -B :
[morriswell@OscarsarchgamingPC ~]$ glxinfo -B
name of display: :0
display: :0 screen: 0
direct rendering: Yes
Extended renderer info (GLX_MESA_query_renderer):

glxinfo32 -B does not return, it says command not found.
when I ran the following, I found much more answers than the person on the other forum:

From what WorMzy said in the second link you sent: "
In my experience this sort of problem is usually caused by a discrepancy between the graphics driver and its lib32 equivalent. What was updated, and what is the output of
glxinfo -B
glxinfo32 -B"
given that my glxinfo32 -B returns command not found, I assume it is an issue with my 32 bit glx driver?
[morriswell@OscarsarchgamingPC ~]$ glxinfo32 -B
bash: glxinfo32: command not found
Moderator Note
The bright Yellow used by the ins tag is hurtful to the eyes for many people.
Please use it only when really needed.
I've replaced the ins tags with code- tags in this post, do the same for your other post.

https://archlinux.org/packages/multilib … esa-utils/
This will also drag in lib32-mesa but you're apparently using https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/lib32-mesa-amd-bc250 and will most likely have to update/rebuild it for the llvm19 update
Edit: also you're using the repo version of mesa which has a different version from that AUR package and also what's up w/ the AMDGPU pro stuff.
Get rid of all of that, there's some issue w/ recent mesa versions and amd/vega GPUs, in that case (only) see https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php … 1#p2220871

Wonderful!! you have fixed my issues. I went through, and I deleted my AMDGPU pro files, using
pacman -Qs 'amd|radeon|mesa|libgl'
and then I replaced my old mesa files with new ones from Pacman. Through the link you sent at the top, I saw I needed to add and remove in one command. I ran:
sudo pacman -S mesa lib32-mesa
It auto installed the new and got rid of the old.
Thank you very much for your help.
I know I need to mark as solved, I assume I just put [SOLVED] in the title, anything else I need to do?
did I tag things correctly?
