perldoc and utf8 / iso8859-1

Hello everybody.

I'm trying to export a perl documentation.
The source code files are in iso8859-1 (standard in our company).

If i try to generate a perldoc, there are a lot of ? and other strange things in the documentation. Example:

debug Debug output the message. Won[7m<80><99>t be printed if the loglevel is not debug.
       Example $log[7m<88><92>>debug("My personal log message");

This seems to be a converting problem, perldoc seems not to recognize the format of the input file.
Does anyone know a way how to bypass this?
Could also be a simple configuration problem of the console (font?). I'm not sure about this, i rarely played around with utf and similar, since it always worked as intended wink.
