Hello everyone,
I’m encountering an issue where my current laptop freezes completely every ~20 minutes, requiring a hard restart.
Details about the Freeze:
The entire system becomes unresponsive.
It does not matter if I am using a DE or I am on a tty.
Switching to any TTY doesn’t work.
Audio stops immediately.
SSH access becomes disabled after the freeze, even though it worked before.
System Information:
Kernel: 6.12.10-arch1-1
Laptop: Asus Zephyrus G16 GA605VW AMD Ryzen 9 HX370, RTX 4060, 32 GB RAM, it is brand new I bought it 3 days ago.
Graphics Setup: PRIME configuration (integrated AMD graphics and dedicated NVIDIA RTX 4060)
Additional Observations:
On the 6.6 LTS kernel, the freezes don’t happen, but my wireless card is not supported, so I have no network access.
I installed Arch Linux on an external SSD and booted from it on this laptop; the freezes persisted.
When I used the same SSD on my older laptop (Ryzen 5 3550U, Vega iGPU, GTX 1650, 16 GB RAM), the system worked fine with no freezes.
Same thing happens in the installer(last version), it freezes in around 20 minutes and I have to restart it. I have a older installer with 6.10 and I do not have the issue.
I also get this error at every start installation

I disconnected the external monitor, and it’s been almost two hours without any freezing issues. The monitor was connected via DisplayPort, but I also tried using HDMI and still experienced the freezes. So, no external monitor for me until this gets resolved.
I’m considering downgrading the kernel since I have a live image with version 5.10.2, which works perfectly without any issues. However, I’ll wait for a proper fix before making any changes.
