Re: my battery drains quickly.

Can you provide some more information on what's wrong exactly, like how fast it is draining, why you expect it to drain slower, if you have the same issue on windows, ...?
On a side note, since the laptop is a "gaming" one and includes both a very powerful cpu and gpu, high battery usage should not be surprising.

Re: my battery drains quickly.

For gaming laptops, it's almost certainly the dgpu. However, more info is needed.

when I fully charge my laptop, it doesn't hold a charge for more than about 4 hours.

What solution do you suggest for this problem?
What should I do with dgpu?

Can you guide me?

Re: my battery drains quickly.

4 hours seems totally reasonable. If you want it to last longer than that, you‘ll probably (you can only know for sure if you either try it or provide some detailed measurements) gain the most from disabling the dgpu completely, or putting it in some low-power state, if available.

How can I disable dgpu?

I have a couple of machines with dgpu and igpu. I don't game myself, and rarely have need for the wasteful dgpu. These machines were handed down from work. There are two alternatives:
1. I adapted nvidia-xrun (the basic idea works for AMD dgpu as well) to completely turn the dgpu off on boot. It also gives me an option to run off the dgpu, but I rarely use it. This is the only way for older nvidia gpus which cannot power off on idle.
2. Use Prime render offload. For newer nvidia the gpu can power off on idle, so this is nearly ideal. AMD probably does something similar.
You'll find detailed instructions for either method on the wiki. I use method 1 even for new machines. I'd never order them with dgpu, but these are from work so I have no choice.

Turning off the dgpu has a dramatic effect on thermals and power usage.
