Dramatic drop in performance and loadtimes after full setup

Currently configuring my first arch installation. I'm using a thinkpad t480s and installed Arch with Hyprland. Before I fully configured it, I tested Ultrakill, with it loading near instantly and giving me around 50 fps in heavy areas. after full setup,  it now takes seemingly 20 secs to load a level, and runs at 20-30 fps. What should I look into?

Well what did "full setup" entail exactly and what did differ between "not full" setup? Did you setup an overly aggressive bar widget that blasts your CPU/GPU with unbounded query requests or so? Did you check system resources/top on whether something other than the game is being taxing?

I set up waybar and pywal to configure themes, also attempted to set up qtk and gtk themes but haven't finished that yet. I checked  active processes, but there wasn't anything notable.

Post your waybar and pywal configs.

Start steam in a terminal and start game, post the output and also post

pacman -Qs vulkan
glxinfo -B #mesa-utils
glxinfo32 -B #lib32-mesa-utils
vulkaninfo --summary #vulkan-tools
