[Solved, with doubt] Kmail doesn't accept to login to gmail

Hello everybody,

I started a new installation, but my /home has been kept. So now I have plasma 6 rather than previous version 5. I installed Kmail with the previous setting, but the login is rejected even is set with Oauth2 that was working correctly last time.

I presume that is missing the token that I received the first time, so now I delete the account but it won't trigger the auto-configuration and even the manual setting is rejected to be set in Kmail.

So I uninstalled Kmail, but I'm afraid that I should wipe any old trace in my /home then perhaps it will work as new installation.

Any input is appreciated.

I'm sorry I could do nothing but make a new user and collect the important data. Too many configurations, it seems to me like a labyrinth and old file left from uninstalled programs.

I'm appreciating your support but I can't get much more than beyond where I started. There are probably some flaw on kmc_wallet.
In my ~/.config/kwalletrc

A side note... I configure Kate with non minimape, but every time I start it the setting are not kept, partially.

Rn you're getting a crash in https://archlinux.org/packages/extra/x8 … anagement/, the function is Identity::uoid() so I suspect that relates to the new user generation.
You probably afforded yourself a new UID, but did you re-chown all the files from your previous user?

Frankly, I'd abandon the approach where you're migrating to a different user and focus on the original problem by wiping the akonadi stuff and generate that configuration new (ie. create a new gmail/oauth2 account in kmail)

Yes, I experiment all of the thing you mention, for the part to reactivate the functionality for the former user. Including the mentioned wiki approach and the following link to KDE relevant instructions.

2nd point) I chown all the new user /home and I tried to have a necessary wallet. The KwalletManager replies:
It seems that you don't have a valid key for the encryption. Import at least one key
Then I found that it's necessary to use a Blowfish encryptione and it worked.

3d point) I tried to see whether a new user could make a difference, but the case is the same, I might return to the former user, but I think there are too many configuration files dangling without a correct setting or belonging to any program. So I gain a little advantage to tide up the /home directory.

Further investigation I found in the systemd journal:

I finally got kmail on track, but I don't know exactly what happened.
I found this command

kmail-refresh-settings

Then the automatic procedure to make the settings was done by the additional information kmail found in FireFox.
