I have an issue with arch linux and Xmonad as a WM regarding suspension.
When I suspend and wake up I get a black screen with a cursor.
I only see the black screen, but I can verify that the system works normally by blindly spawning a terminal and playing a video that is audible.
I can tty as well. I have to resort to reboot from tty in order to be able to use the system again
Kernel= 6.12.8-arch1-1
I'm using NVIDIA.
Driver info: NVIDIA-SMI 565.77 Driver Version: 565.77 CUDA Version: 12.7
Any guidance on how to troubleshoot would be helpful.
Things I did
in "/etc/systemd/system/systemd-homed.service.d/override.conf":
[Service]
Environment="SYSTEMD_HOME_LOCK_FREEZE_SESSION=false"
in "/etc/systemd/system/system-suspend.service.d":
[Service]
Environment="SYSTEMD_SLEEP_FREEZE_USER_SESSIONS=false"

There are some somewhat known suspend issues currently, you could try configuring https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/NVIDIA … er_suspend and maybe check how it behaves on the LTS kernel (you'd need nvidia-lts for the module).
Not a forum/wiki issue moving to NC
