TWICE. this results in a kernel panic and plus; MY LAPTOP WONT EVEN TURN ON ANYMORE! i tried charging it, it didn't work. it turns on for half a second, turns off for about 3 seconds, and repeat. i cannot stop it. can anyone help me fix this or is my laptop cooked?

Most laptops have a firmware reset procedure, for ASUS it is activated by a 40 second long press of the power button, check your manufacturers support pages for details on your machine.

long story short, there was alot of food crumbs inbetween the keycaps, it got to my motherboard, and now the motherboard is fucked.

well - so I wasn't that far off with a stuck power button, eh?
yes, I've killed a fair share of hardware my own - last time it was my r9 290x oc which, until I killed it, did a great job playing even recent games
but top #1 hardware I killed over the years are numbers of keyboards due to spilled liquid over them
as for laptops: one I grilled both the gpu and the display because I pinched the display cable on re-assembly - and my own recently got dropped by my cat ... but with its battery broken already I only cry about the cool stickers I covered the top with
let me see - oh yea, back in school about 20 years ago I flashed a wrong firmware onto a class mates mp3 player - had to sacrifice mine and give it to her
tldr - we all fried some hardware in the past - some more expensive than others - but yea: bread crumms through the keyboard down to the board ... sad story

ps: computer guy said a motherboard replacement would cost more money than the laptop's worth
