Hi all,
is it just me who gets a memory leak in X while using beryl?
X eats up more and more memory with beryl running.
I am using beryl from unstable (as of this day)
with the downgraded libgl-dri-6.5.1-1 and mesa-6.5.1-2.
I tried with most plugins disabled except
the essential ones like move and place. Same result.
This is what top shows

and it goes on like this.
I open a firefox and close it again: the RES memory goes to 226m
Does somebody else has this?

meanwhile I found myself:
downgrading of libgl-dri and mesa (because of this:http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?t=28614
was not a good idea.
I upgraded and somehow it works now.

The latest version of xorg-server on archlinux has its protocols updated to match mesa 6.5.2. Running it with older versions could cause problems yes.

If you have performance/stability issues, I sugest you to try Compiz http://go-compiz.org as your compositing window manager.

maybe you've got a shared-memory graphics card?

No, me too... but with the nvidia drivers... normally the xserver takes about 30mb (more or less) on my system, but when i start beryl, it slowly increases... After a hour Xorg occupies about 300mb and counting...
Mesa is the latest 6.5.2-1 and i usually compile beryl from svn... nVidia drivers are 1.0.9631-1 and its a GeForce 7600GT.
want a modular and tweaked KDE for arch? try kdemod
