I am running hyprland on arch linux, and using gnome. When i log in, i have kitty, firefox,spotify as exec-once in workspace 1,2,3 respectively. But i automatically get sent to firefox(workspace 2) instead of kitty(workspace 1),
I am just wondering if there is a way i can change this.
Let me know if any file outputs are required as i am new to the forums

post your whole hyprland conf in a pastebin so we can see what's in it

How about
exec-once = sleep 1 && hyprctl dispatch workspace 1in your hyperland.conf
Edit: BTW, I've not actually tried that

i mean, i know that exec-once ... executes once, and im assuming sleep 1 just waits for 1 second
hyprctl dispatch workspace 1 im not too sure but hyprctl hyprcontrol? and dispatch is like go to? and then workspace 1 is fine

You got most of it. You might want to look at the hyprctl man page, you can do some cute things with it
hyprctl - Utility for controlling parts of Hyprland from a CLI or a script
dispatch is a subcommand of hyprctl
