Hub 10-0:1.0: config failed, hub doesn't have any ports! (err -19)

Hello,
When my system starts, I get this message : hub 10-0:1.0: config failed, hub doesn’t have any ports! (err -19).
How to solve this problem?
Thanks

Re: Hub 10-0:1.0: config failed, hub doesn't have any ports! (err -19)

I also have the same problem

Am running a brand new PC and system, just installed a couple of days ago, new MB AsRock B650pro RS, CPU Ryzen 7 7700, memory 16GB. running Xfce

Before I was running a old AsRock, Intel setup (arch) and never had this message

I've checked out the forum and Google and this 'bug' seems to be around a lot and not just related to Arch, also seems to be more AMD related from what I read, I see Seth in another post seems to think it's 'just noise' effectively it doesn't seem to be causing any problems

I have nothing plugged in to my USB sockets except, Mouse, keyboard, and a couple of USB cables, even when I unplug them the message at boot is still present, I've tried changing the cables and sockets, it doesn't change anything. Haven't found anything in the bios that changes this and the bios is the very latest from AsRock

I have no GPU as yet (next week), for the moment I am running the iGpu

Kernel is the latest 6.13.1-arch-1

Again my system boots fine, and all seems perfect

Here is my lsusb -tv reading , all seems ok https://pastebin.com/nPA1gDx5

Would be happy if anyone has more suggestions and to find / clear up this message

Thanks

Hello,
I think the problem comes from the motherboard which may be too new.
Perhaps the problem will be resolved with the next Linux kernel.
In any case, this does not slow down startup in any way.

Re: Hub 10-0:1.0: config failed, hub doesn't have any ports! (err -19)

I been trying to look and find solutions for this 'error' 'bug'

It seems to be around for a couple of years now, so I don't believe it's due to new MBs

What s strange is that it shows on boot if you are running a systemd boot which I am on my new computer (setup less than a  week ago)
Yesterday I did  the same installation on a second SSD same computer but this time installed grub, and the error doesn't show on boot, but does show if I run journalctl -p 3 -xb so it is actually there, just you don't see it
Again this is not just Arch

Re: Hub 10-0:1.0: config failed, hub doesn't have any ports! (err -19)

I had the same error message. If you examine your ports (buses?), you may find that more are indicated than you expect. I found a setting in my UEFI related to AMD that had a USB submenu. I turned off the last one and that solved it for me. I will reboot and report back with some more specifics.

In my UEFI I found it here:

AMD CBS > FCH Common Options > USB Configuration Options

There is a vertical list:
USB0
USB1
USB2
etc

I set USB2 to disabled and my system no longer includes the offending bus (bus 12 and bus 11 are gone).

Essentially, it looks like the UEFI is trying to assign ports to a hub that doesn't exist. If anyone has more info please advise.
