F13-F24 global shortcuts don't work on Discord Wayland

I have a special key on my keyboard which I want to use to toggle mute on my microphone. I have set this key to F13 on my keyboard to not interfere with any other applications.
On X11 I can set the keybind for toggle mute to F13 just fine on Discord (it shows up as UNK191 for some reason, but works fine). But on Wayland, I still see the keybind set to UNK191, but pressing F13 doesn't do anything.

I have configured KDE Plasma to always send keystrokes to legacy X11 apps, and while other keys like F1-F12 work just fine. F13 just doesn't.

How do I fix this?

Re: F13-F24 global shortcuts don't work on Discord Wayland

I figured it out! I have my system configured so that pressing my mute key on the keyboard supposed to mute my mic via KDE Plasma AND via Discord, but it turns out on Wayland, the system shortcuts eats the input for some reason, so Discord doesn't see it. The "solution" is to create a macro which presses 2 keys at once, one is detected by Discord, one by KDE Plasma. It's janky but it works.

P.S. I also discovered that F20 is the "Microphone Mute" shortcut for KDE Plasma. (possibly Linux in general?)

Sorry for reviving an old thread, just want to bring closure to this, in case someone else finds it.

With KDE the F13 - F24 keys are bound to different system settings and not used as you'd expect them.
As I could not find a documentation of all default bindings I made my own small list:

- F13 for "System Settings"
- F14 for "Launch (5)"
- F15 for "Launch (6)"
- F16 for "Launch (7)"
- F17 for "Launch (8)"
- F18 for "Launch (9)"
- F19 unknown/nothing?
- F20 for "Microphone Mute"
- F21 for "Touchpad Toggle"
- F22 for "Touchpad On"
- F23 for "Touchpad Off"
- F24 unknown/nothing?

You can disable these weird default bindings and use F13 - F24 normally by enabling them in the settings.
It disables the default bindings, though. (You would have to rebind if you want to use some of them)

1. System Settings
2. Keyboard
3. Click “Key Bindings” (top right)
4. Enable “Configure keyboard options”
5. Expand “Function keys”
6. Enable “Use F13-F24 as usual function keys”

Edit:
Right, since I read that quite often on here:
Please mark your post as solved if you have no further issues relating to it.
