Re: [solved almost] nvidia Geforce GT740: screen deactivates during boot

None-1 connected primary 1024x768+0+0 (normal left inverted right x axis y axis) 0mm x 0mm
   1024x768 60.00*+

That's the simpledrm device with an XGA emulation-monitor.

Teh journal shows the nvidia 470.256.02 driver, not nouveau, is in use?

févr. 14 17:38:45 OptiPlex7010 kernel: Failed to initialize the nv-hotplug-helper DRM client (ensure DRM kernel mode setting is enabled via nvidia-drm.modeset=1).

Add "nvidia-drm.modeset=1" (this will however also block the simpledrm device)

X11 is ok, and resumes
but TTY are still "too big"

Re: [solved almost] nvidia Geforce GT740: screen deactivates during boot

Because you're currently/now/still running on nvidia and therefore the efifb, what means the console will be limited to whatever your UEFI supports (apparently only XGA)

If you care about the console, you could try https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/KMSCON into that setup.

Re: [solved almost] nvidia Geforce GT740: screen deactivates during boot

fwiw, kmscon doesn't fit my needs, because, as "far" as I tested
- it can't run X11 (it's already a /dev/pts/n); trying to run X outputs something about wrong DISPLAY.
- it doesn't take the whole screen size, but only (let's say) two third of upper left screen.
- it might be buggy as when one logout, it doesn't restart login, and doesn't respond anymore.

I finally took nvidia graphic out, and plugged a vga cable into Intel integrated graphic.
I've got nice TTYs, and nice X11 too. The bad thing is that I lost HDMI. I've got to get a SFF notNvidia graphic card embedding HDMI...
