[SOLVED] monitor thinks pc is powered off after launching a steam game

Hello

I recently switched to arch and am having some trouble launching games with steam.

whenever i launch a game my monitor says no device connected to HDMI 1 and when i look at the HDMI connections it shows my pc as being powered off although it is still switched on.

i have tried reinstalling proprietary NVIDIA drivers however that has not fixed the issue.

games that i have tried launching are: witcher 3, cyberpunk 2077, stardew valley and deep rock galactic.  i am able to get enter the gungeon to launch so i think the issue is with games that are not native to linux

PC specs

amd ryzen 7 5600x 3d
nvidia rtx 4070
32gb ram

i am running arch on a secondary ssd that i took out of my laptop and installed into my main pc so i am unsure if that may be effecting anything

Update: i launched deep rock galactic which is also a native linux game however there were constant screen flashes before the same issue ocured along with my fans going to max speed

EDIT: switched to x11 from wayland and all isues were solved

Please online-paste journalctl and PROTON_LOG=1 logs.

i am running arch on a secondary ssd that i took out of my laptop and installed into my main pc so i am unsure if that may be effecting anything

If not already done, please perform a clean and proper installation in order to get rid of any eventual leftover quirks.
