Memory card needs to be re-inserted on every boot

I don't know when this happened, but I am suspecting that is happened after an update. My computer has a built-in card reader and I have a memory card inserted at all times. When I type 'lsblk' I would see the memory card displayed as 'mmcblk0'. But after an update, I don't see this anymore once the computer is booted or rebooted. So, I have to manually re-insert the memory card in order for this to work. Does anyone have same or similar problems? What could be causing this?

Which kernel version are you using? Please post the output of "uname -r"
