[SOLVED] Network issues; 0 download speed; NetworkManager

Hello,

I'm new to Arch Linux and have been having issues with my internet connection. The issue is mostly present when browsing the internet and opening new tabs, watching a YouTube video works, video calls work and I can play games without lagging (at least on Marvel Rivals), but connecting to a server on other games (Monster Hunter Wilds Beta, Street Fighter 6) takes a long time. The issue seems to be on establishing a connection.
Using KDE's system monitor widget, I can see that my internet connection is constantly at 0,0B/s, with some spikes that happen when I try to open a website, the graph looks normal on video calls. I'm using NetworkManager with iwd (had the same problem with wpa, changed to try fixing the issue). No other device in my house is presenting this issue. This happens on wifi and ethernet

Note: as I was writing, I noticed my post was getting increasingly messy, so I decided to move most information into Pastebin and share the links.

pacman -Q for NetworkManager, iwd and wpa_supplicant:

https://pastebin.com/iwy1rd76

Results for speedtest, speedtest-cli and speedtest.net:

https://pastebin.com/NSK59DvD

When running speedtest through the terminal, it takes a long time on the "Selecting best server based on ping". All tests were made in succession, at the time I am writing this post.

Results for lspci:

https://pastebin.com/Xgtz13iR

Some errors from journalctl -r:

https://pastebin.com/A34KniTE

Results from ping 8.8.8.8:

https://pastebin.com/JaBttvR8

Results from strace ping 8.8.8.8:

https://pastebin.com/dS9ab58Z

I don't know what else to add here to be honest.

Thanks in advance, and let me know if there is any additional information I can provide.

Thanks

Some errors from journalctl -r:

isn't gonna help here.

Please post the output of

find /etc/systemd -type l -exec test -f {} \; -print | awk -F'/' '{ printf ("%-40s | %s\n", $(NF-0), $(NF-1)) }' | sort -f

and in doubt your complete system journal for the boot:

sudo journalctl -b | curl -F 'file=@-' 0x0.st

Re: [SOLVED] Network issues; 0 download speed; NetworkManager

The internet seems to be working today, somehow, after a week of trying to solve it. But the results are below.

Output of find /etc/systemd -type l -exec test -f {} \; -print | awk -F'/' '{ printf ("%-40s | %s\n", $(NF-0), $(NF-1)) }' | sort -f:

https://pastebin.com/eRRySjHU

Output of sudo journalctl -b | curl -F 'file=@-' 0x0.st:

http://0x0.st/8Z_X.txt

(Can you open this?)

Thank you

You connect and 4½h later intentionally disconnect - that's all, no signal drops, iwd or iwlwifi errors.

The internet seems to be working today, somehow, after a week of trying to solve it. But the results are below.

Please post either an older journal that actually covers the problem or post an updated one in case this re-emerges.

Yeah, that was from yesterday afternoon (February 11), and there really weren't any issues. Maybe I did something (I did a lot of things) in the day I first posted (February 10, technically) and just had to reboot to get it working.

Logs from February 9:

http://0x0.st/8Zvr.txt

Logs from February 10:

http://0x0.st/8Zve.txt

Logs from the boot in which I wrote my first post:

http://0x0.st/8ZvK.txt

If you don't find anything there, I'll just assume it's my ISP's fault and consider it solved

Thank you so much for your help

Re: [SOLVED] Network issues; 0 download speed; NetworkManager

Maybe that's it. One of the things I tried to do was splitting my 5G and 2.4G signals, one of them must be giving me trouble. I will increase the threshold as suggested by the wiki.

Thanks seth, I see you in a lot of posts helping people, that's really nice of you.

Re: [SOLVED] Network issues; 0 download speed; NetworkManager

Coming back to say that the problem was indeed my ISP and I was just paranoid since I'm new to Linux and thought I fucked something up. Dude here said I was using a NAT protocol (no idea what that is) and they changed my ip address

Please always remember to mark resolved threads by editing your initial posts subject - so others will know that there's no task left, but maybe a solution to find.
Thanks.
