Problem installing legacy nvidia driver(nvidia-390xx-dkms) on wayland

I'm new to archLinux so sorry if i missed up in something that is so basic,
I have followed the archlinux wiki on how to install nvidia drivers and see the correct driver for my nvidia card and it was nvidia-390xx-dkms and my nvidia card is nvidia quadro 2000
I installed it and followed wayland tweaks like Enabling modeset fbdev and i completed them, but for some reason i get a black screen with a cursor each time i login to wayland
i tried gnome (wayland), kde plasma(wayland), hyprland and all give the same result, then i tried gnome with xorg and kde with x11 and they started correctly.
So did i miss something or just because my driver is old can't be launched on wayland?

Re: Problem installing legacy nvidia driver(nvidia-390xx-dkms) on wayland

fbdev doesn't exsit for nvidia-390xx https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/NVIDIA … de_setting

Note: Kernels officially supported by Arch enable simpledrm, while NVIDIA driver requires efifb or vesafb when nvidia_drm.fbdev is disabled/unavailable (version < 545)

https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Wayland#Requirements

For the GPU driver and Wayland compositor to be compatible they must support the same buffer API. There are two main APIs: GBM and EGLStreams

GBM is not supported by NVIDIA drivers prior to ver. 495 and KWin dropped support for EGLStreams.

https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Wayland#NVIDIA_driver

Note: NVIDIA drivers prior to version 470 (e.g. nvidia-390xx-dkmsAUR) do not support hardware accelerated Xwayland, causing non-Wayland-native applications to suffer from poor performance in Wayland sessions

Why exactly do you want wayland on 390 drivers?

Because i have a quadro 2000 video card which it's driver should be 390??

Then use X11. You're not gonna get anything except problems on wayland
