Monitor report rate drops after playing for some time

New to the forum and Linux

After playing for some time on multiple games, my refresh rate randomly drops badly.
It's not an FPS related issue. For example, in Minecraft, I get around 800 fps, and when the issue occurs, the fps remain the same, but the screen displays as if everything is going lower than 15 hz
xrandr still reports 143.88, even as the issue is present
Even after exiting the game, the issue persists, and the only solution is for me to reboot.

This issue has happened to me on two separate devices. The only thing in common is that they're both HP and have an AMD CPU.
Anyone has this issue? I'd be glad to send any logs if asked! ^^
