So it seems that VS voice is not working under linux, but there was a fix provided in github. Fix does not work for me, without a reason why.

Solved, it was a locale issue.
Had to run "unset LANG" and "source /etc/profile.d/locale.sh" as said in the Wiki to make the changes to locale.conf imminent.
