Hello. I have moved to hyprland from plasma recently. And for the most part, I enjoy it. But, it isn't perfect. I want it to be like a DE, but I can't figure out how to make it that way. But today, I learned that you could change the window manager in kde from kwin to something you want. So, I tried to do just that, following the wiki. But, right off the bat, I ran into some issues. First, it told me to mask plasma-kwin_x11.service. So I did that, but it said that the service doesn't exist. So I ignored it. But, while continuing with the rest of the tutorial, I ran into another issue, which I had to solve. I can't for the life of me find where hyprland is installed. I installed it through pacman, so any help would be appriciated.

did you try to mask it in the user or system session?

Oh. I thought you were supposed to just run the masking command without specifying whether it is user or system. I thought running it without specifying would do it for the user. I did it using --user just now, but still I can't find where hyprland is located in my file system.

You absolutely can't do what you envision in a wayland session. The plasma panel will not know how to talk to hyprland and vice versa. Replacing WMs willy nilly was possible on xorg, it's not going to work for wayland.

Oh. That's disappointing, but thanks for informing me.
