Nvidia driver 470 dkms dies

The video card works in Windows. It is not dead, the errors might make you think it is, but it isn't. And also nouveau works, but I need vulkan, and vulkan-nouveau does not support my video card, I tried, even with BROKEN_DRIVER flag

Any time I need to use my video card in my optimus laptop the nvidia driver crashes.

I tried installing the driver 430 but for some reason the driver dkms build fails with the current 6.12.17-1-lts

It would take a week to post all the wiki links that I followed and didn't solve the issue.

You're not going to do much vulkan on Kepler regardless even with that driver. What general setup are you running? And I'd probably make sense to check whether you can reproduce on linux-lts with older drivers like these as there are chances there are unpatched kernel compat issues.

Better than the Embedded GPU in the Ivy bridge. And pretty much this is my reserve computer while the PC with a 960 gets fixed.

But yeah, I also assume it is a kernel issue. But I was hoping to see if someone knows a kernel version that worked for them so I don't need to test one version at a time, because even the lts kernel has issues.

I tried to install the version 5, which what I looked up was the version that the version 4xx was made for, however when trying to install trough downgrade, the key was expired.

I was hoping to not need to compile the kernel myself, but I believe I will have to do it...
