Elecom Mouse - how do i get the extra function keys to work.

Hi. I switched back to linux after decades (so I'm kind of lost) since I refuse to upgrade to 11, but I am having problems getting the trackballs extra function buttons to work.
I have checked around and ran XEV and evtest but none of them pickup anything from the extra buttons on my Elecom Deft, is there a way to setup udev rules anyway for it?
Thanks in advance
Nick

Please edit your post and use a less generic subject.

There used https://github.com/cpetrov/deft but apparently that was upstreamed years ago.
Did you evtest all devices (it might pose as two) resp. does it generate input on "sudo libinput debug-events"?

Hi.
Yes it showed up as 3-4 devices but sadly none of them recognized the extra buttons.
I'll take a look at your link, maybe I'll get lucky.
Thanks

The module is in-tree, https://github.com/torvalds/linux/blob/ … d-elecom.c

lsmod | grep elecom

If it's not loaded, try to manually load it

modprobe hid-elecom
