Vostro 7500 - i915 [drm] *ERROR* Sending link address failed with -5

Hello - I'm connecting two monitors to the dell vostro 7500 laptop, one directly using hdmi(nvidia) and then using usb c hub hdmi port to another monitor(intel integrated gpu). However, when I turn on the laptop I see the screen blank with the following error listed below.

journalctl --boot=-1 | grep i915

The only fix is to reboot the system and then both the monitors are detected. Not sure how to fix this issue.
