I have a pipewire audio setup with speakers connected through my USB-C monitor. The audio device in question is listed as "Alder Lake PCH-P High Definition Audio Controller HDMI / DisplayPort 1 Output" in pwvucontrol.
Every time the monitor goes to sleep, the volume always jumps to 100% after the screen turns back on. I haven't found any references to any settings to make the device's volume level persist, and I only have this problem with the sound going through the monitor; the internal (laptop) speakers as well as any headphones persist state through sleep and even reboots.
Does anyone know how to get the volume level to persist even after the monitor wakes from sleep?
