Re: Pipewire not detecting speaker

not much actable info here, what outputs do you get from

aplay -l
amixer -c0 #or whatever index your speakers are on in aplay -l
pactl list cards
pactl list sinks

post that in

tags

Re: Pipewire not detecting speaker

Check

$ wpctl status

which sinks are with asteriks (default selected).

$ wpctl inspect ID

be sure its the right output for the plugged port. If not

$ wpctl set-default ID
$ pactl list

find your card and especially check the active profile and profiles to make sure which output or input they are support.

$ wpctl set-profile ID INDEX

to select profile for your card. after select you can observe

$ wpctl status

sinks are updated and inspect the ids.
to make it permanent

$ cat .config/wireplumber/wireplumber.conf.d/90-alsa.conf
monitor.alsa.rules = [
  {
    matches = [
      {
        # This matches the value of the 'device.name' property of the device.
        device.name = "alsa_card.pci-0000_00_1b.0"
      }
    ]
    actions = {
      update-props = {
        # Apply all the desired device settings here.
        device.profile = "output:analog-stereo"
      }
    }
  }
]

dont forget to restart the audio (pipewire, wireplumber, pipewire-pulse) services or systemctl reboot.

Re: Pipewire not detecting speaker

Card is there and detected, volume overdriven to a potentially dangerous level, when actually trying to play back something what do you get from

sudo fuser -v /dev/snd/*
pactl list sink-inputs

Re: Pipewire not detecting speaker

the speaker has a knob on it that i use for control, i have played with random bars and may have left some at max

/dev/snd/controlC0:     User      810 F....    wireplumber
/dev/snd/controlC1:     User      809 F....    pipewire
                                    User      810 F....   wireplumber
/dev/snd/pcmC1D3p:   User      809 F...m pipewire

Re: Pipewire not detecting speaker

You're playing to the HDMI device.

pactl set-default-sink alsa_output.pci-0000_00_1f.3.analog-stereo
#Should move things already, if it doesn't try a
pactl move-sink-input 5083 alsa_output.pci-0000_00_1f.3.analog-stereo #The index will change depending on when you start playback, recheck with pactl list-sink-inputs

generally such a constellation should be visible in pavucontrol as well.
