I have lxqt installed. It uses openbox as its window manager. Can I use openbox as a standalone as well? If so how can I change settings in the standalone openbox without messing up settings for openbox as the window manager for lxqt? Or do I have to replace lxqt's window manager with another one?

Look in ~/.config/openbox
You should see 2 files there lxtq-rc.xml and rc.xml .
The settings in the first are used when lxqt is running with openbox as WM, the 2nd is for standalone openbox .
Disliking systemd intensely, but not satisfied with alternatives so focusing on taming systemd.
clean chroot building not flexible enough ?
Try clean chroot manager by graysky
