UKI - location of kernel command line

Hi all,

I boot the UKI with kernel parameters defined in /etc/cmdline.d/root.conf

Reading the wiki, it suggests an alternative location /etc/kernel/cmdline

Both work as expected, no issues.

Is there a reason to go down one path over the other?

TIA

Re: UKI - location of kernel command line

Both locations are read by mkinitcpio. /etc/cmdline.d/ can contain multiple *.conf files. One may want to keep kernel command line parts in separate files. For example, some files may be generated by scripts, some installed as part of a package.
EDIT: also it is convenient to keep module-specific options in separate file per module.

@dimich

Tks for the response. Multiple config files makes sense.
Good point.
