[SOLVED] Epson Perfection V37 scanner installation advise needed

Dear all,
I need to move my Epson Perfection V37 to my Linux box as Windows 11 is no longer supporting it.
As I read from the Wiki it should be supported by both iscan and imagescan backend using iscan-plugin-perfection-v370.

iscan is giving several build errors, also it is pretty dated so I want to go the imagescan / utsushi path.

What I did and what is working:
sane installation OK.
imagescan installation OK.
utsushi.conf file with the IDs.

$ scanimage -L
device `utsushi:esci:usb:04b8:014a' is a  Perfection V37/V370 

My question now would be how or where would I install the scanner plugin?
The iscan-plugin-perfection-v370 AUR package is obviously for iscan and also has iscan and iscan-data as dependencies. So is it possible to manually copy / install the actual plugin?  I think it is the esfww.bin file in the deb package. Or what would be the intended way to use with imagescan?

Searching for this topic just gives me just some crumbs and not a solution.
Any help would be highly appreciated.

iscan build issues are likely because gimp moved to gtk3?

Strange I did not see the notes on the Gimp issue with the iscan AUR package even if they are dated Apr 3rd.

Anyway: With removing the Gimp references from PKGBUILD as commented everything works just fine.
