I don't like how small the grid is because of the huge indents and the unchangeable font size under the icons. I want to change this. But I've been looking for a way for a long time and haven't found it.
All the methods I found on the Internet didn't work in my case. And I don't know why, either because of the 6th version of KDE, or because of the installation via archinstall:
1) Right-clicking on the desktop shows a menu with only one item similar to what I'm looking for - fixed icon sizes. Nothing else
2) There is no "Desktop behavior" item in the "Workspace" system settings group
3) There is no separate setting in the fonts for adjusting fonts for desktop icons
4) There are no advanced settings in the "Global theme" setting in the "Icons" item. None at all.
5) Editing "plasma-org.kde.plasma.desktop-appletsrc" and adding new entries like "gridUnit" does not change anything
6) Switching from Folder View to Desktop View is buggy for me. I can't sort the icons I add, place them on the grid, and after adding one, the others are not added. I need to restart the KDE session to add another icon

The packagers, community and Testing try to assure a smooth experience but Arch is not the source of design decisions/bugs originating upstream, and Plasma 6 introduced plenty of user-facing changes like moving things elsewhere. Still, I can't state with certainty that none of these issues somehow involve the system configuration.
To inquire about issues in Plasma, there's https://bugs.kde.org/ and forums, or perhaps some here more familiar with Plasma and those issues may be able to help.

Try right-clicking the desktop > select Desktop and Wallpaper > Icons > there should be a bunch of options for changing how desktop icons are displayed, sorted, etc.
You shouldn't need to switch from Folder View to Desktop View.

I hate the rabbit hole I have fallen down but the sunk-cost fallacy, pacman, and the AUR prevent me from picking up and moving to Fedora or something.
