parallel processes booting?

just got on arch, loving its speed and simplicity.  the only slight hangup during booting is that it waits for my network to be configured before moving on to the next process.  was wondering if there's a way (a boot option i could specify?) to have my network be brought up while it's continuing to boot (in the same way, for example, that it continues to boot while it's mounting my partitions).  my searches have been fruitless so far.  thanks!

Re: parallel processes booting?

Add @ before network daemon (or other daemons, though it needs some common sense) in DAEMONS array of /etc/rc.conf.

Re: parallel processes booting?

sorry for the lame question and thanks for the quick reply!  haven't been back in that file too much since the install and that documentation about running in the background probably didn't register at the time of the install.  thanks again.
