[Solved] No video when entering Xorg/wayland

Recently, every time my computer is turned on I face the following issues:

1. GDM is there and is usable.
2. After logging in and selecting the entry (in this case UWSM Managed Hyprland), a black screen shows with nothing else in it. Nothing changes, I need to switch ttys and restart GDM.
3. After restarting GDM, it now doesn't open and it shows an underscore on the top left corner.
4. Number 2 persists after reboot, regardless of what entry I choose (although sometimes GNOME does open).
5. This isn't fixed until I downgrade and upgrade mesa and do a system update.
6. Cycle repeats once I turn my computer back on.

After waking up from suspend I'm on step 2, black screen.

Here is my journalctl and a hyprland crash report.

journalctl -b: http://0x0.st/8V3X.txt
Hyprland crash report: http://0x0.st/8V3P.txt

I'm wondering if someone can give me some pointers to figure out what's going on, couldn't find anything like this in the wiki. I feel like there's something wrong with the drivers but I can't find anything else in the logs.

llvm in repos is at version 19.1.7 , looks like you are in a partial update situation .

Please perform a full pacman -Syu .

Disliking systemd intensely, but not satisfied with alternatives so focusing on taming systemd.

clean chroot building not flexible enough ?

Re: [Solved] No video when entering Xorg/wayland

Hey, sorry about that.

I just checked and I am up to date. LLVM is at 19.1.7-1

Also I noticed this doesn’t appear to happen when I log in as root, so I’m thinking there could be something in my home folder causing this.

Trying to create a new user to see if it happens there (weird thing is this happens with DWM, Hyprland and Gnome, so I guess it has to do with mesa config)

Re: [Solved] No video when entering Xorg/wayland

Hyprland, GNOME and DWM launched fine on the new user, it appears we can isolate this to my user.

Sorry for creating a new post, used to Reddit and comments.

Closing now, it looks like it was related to my .config/systemd/user services, most likely related to hypridle as this all started after suspending and resuming.

Erased the .config folder and gnu stowed the necessary files, enabled services I need and restarted after each one to make sure it wasn't breaking anything.

In case you are satisified with the outcome, please prepend [Solved] to the thread title .
(edit first post, you may have to shorten the title before you can add solved.)
