alsa-base.conf file not found [SOLVED]

Any headphone connected through the headphone jack does not give out any sound. I have used ubuntu before where I had the same issue. But there I fixed it by adding this line:
"options snd_hda_intel model=dell-headset-multi" at the end of the alsa-base.conf file. I have switched to arch, but I do not have an alsa-base.conf file anymore. And even if I create one
I have no idea what to put in there, as when I was using ubuntu there were many lines of text there. I am using pipe wire, and my laptop is an GL503GE

I am extremely new to Arch, hence the dumb question.

Literally add that one line into the file you create

Thank you so much, as in ubuntu there was many  lines of code, and I thought if I did not add it I would break something. But thankfully it worked, and thank you

Re: alsa-base.conf file not found [SOLVED]

I suspect most lines in the ubuntu file should have been # commented?

Please always remember to mark resolved threads by editing your initial posts subject - so others will know that there's no task left, but maybe a solution to find.
Thanks.

Re: alsa-base.conf file not found [SOLVED]

Afaik Ubuntu bends some not common devices/drivers to index=-2 to ensure they don't take the "default" 0 spot. But this isn't generally a problem and also mostly irrelevant with stuff like pulse/pipewire being more commonly used as opposed to straight ALSA
