Hi all
I created a repository for opensource (GPL2) version of secondlife (diferent from aur so). It works with sound output but it's quite slow. This is due to the use of openjpeg library :
https://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Compil … slow.21.21
Anyway it allow you to test opensource version. And if teher are some hackers among you don't hesitate
Repository is here, pacman -S secondlife :

Note: This version isn't completly free software becaus it used fmod library. If you want to disable it, use this patch :

PKGBUILDs are here :

Maybe you can put it into AUR as secondlife-gpl?

or put current secondlife package to secondlife-bin ? What is the best ?

I think you can't put it into existing one without asking the author. Ask author if he won't respond - create -src.

"secondlife" has been deleted from the AUR. The old package is "secondlife-bin" and is available here:

I'm currently trying to compile with new source release. If all is ok I will put packages on aur tomorrow. Old sources are still here :

Mmh....I used the old PKGBUILD for the new SecondLife_i686_1_13_2_12 Version.
It work for me.
Why should I use the opensource file? Are there any changes?
If not I try it out next Time.
Have Fun,

Because it's open source, and because it is compiled with Arch options?
Truth is that you probably won't notice any difference as an end user.
