Usplash's arch theme

Hi all,

After installing the new usplash package for arch, I got into the customization tutorial from the ubuntu wiki, and came with a little draft for an archlinux theme.

Here it is :

After installing it I had to regenerate my init image, as I had still the ubuntu theme appearing at first stage of boot.

I cannot make an actual screenshot, but here's the background used, you cannot see the text or the progress bar but you can get the overall look.
I tried to 'keep it simple' in the arch way   

It's not finished yet I have some thing to fix yet, and right after I think I'll post a PKGBUILD on Aur. So comments are welcome.

please post the source and a PKGBUILD using the supplied format for the usplash-artwork-ubuntu package.

As far as I understood, usplash uses the color palette from the background image. For instance I edited it in the Gimp.
For using a specific color in the .c source I just took the Hex value from the background image palette.

James, I'm not sure how to mod the PKGBUILD to adapt it to my theme. Should I link to source directory or provide directly the .so file with the package like you've done with ubuntu one ?

Also how can we configure usplah to choose a specific then ?

arkanoid would you test my theme? i need to see if it works on others pcs    i'm happy with what i got and i've created a 1024x768 theme (other resolutions will follow).
I guess adding vga=791 to your kernel line will do the trick if you don't have it already.

and rebooted. It worked. :-)
But the background is too light.
spookykid, could you make the background a bit darker?

too light? :shock:  have you checked your brightness settings? sometimes i think it's too dark

... still working on an updated version, couldn't post it because my ISP is down at the moment, but I've grooved up the background a bit and still have to convert it to every resolution... stay tune.  , pkg is coming.

arkanoid, i'm sorry but i forgot to tell you i only had a 1024x768 version finished all others were just tests    i've uploaded a new version which should work on all standard resolutions. Please try it and tell me if it works for you ok?
