I just install xfce4.4. Everything seams fine and faster. But a problem occurs. when I run terminal, the startup window just give me a blink flash and then disappear without any notification.
I also try run gnome-terminal and it is oK. Why, and is this a bug? is there anyone meet similar problem?

Welcome to the board, xhhe!
Have you tried starting it out of a different terminal, i.e. gnome-terminal or xterm? Are there any error messages?

Make sure that you did a full update and that you are using terminal-0.2.6-1. Probably it's a mirror syncing problem.
Have you checked which version of terminal you have installed?
pacman -Qi terminalHaven't been here in a while. Still rocking Arch. ![]()

Pacman -Qi gives terminal 0.2.4-6. PAcman -Sy terminal still gives 0.2.4-6. Seems the mirror synching hasn't happened yet.

You guys are mixing xfce4-terminal and terminal. Those are 2 different applications (/me can see this because terminal 0.2.6 is not linked to libxfcegui4, the other one is...).
So run this:
pacman -R xfce4-terminal
pacman -S terminal
This will probably fix it.

Eh..... Not so much.
Pacman -R xfce4-terminal gives:
error: could not find xfce4-terminal in database
and Pacman -S terminal gives:
terminal-0.2.4-6 is up to date. Upgrade anyway? [Y/n]

Switch to a more uptodate mirror or wait before your mirror synced. The current version is terminal 0.2.6-2 while your mirror have 0.2.4

Thanks.

hello, the problem has been solved. I delete the old user account and made a new one. Now everything is fine. Maybe some old configurations conflicted with terminal. Anyway, Terminal always runs OK at root account. I am using terminal-2.4.6-1 version.
