Davinci Resolve / Control Panels Setup symbol lookup error

I've installed DR from the AUR. I've tried both running it on X11 and Wayland (i3wm and sway)
I'm getting no splash screen or anything. I've tried both the normal version and studio.

Running Control Panels Setup outputs:

./DaVinci Control Panels Setup: symbol lookup error: /opt/resolve/libs/libc++.so.1: undefined symbol: __cxa_init_primary_exception

Running Resolve outputs:

./resolve

You should use ROC_ENABLE_PRE_VEGA=1 environment variable. Otherwise use pro stack (run checker with --pro), because legacy opencl requires progl to work.

Re: Davinci Resolve / Control Panels Setup symbol lookup error

I believe this may be the same bug

Please test It along with the proposed fix

That seemed to fix the libc++ error, however now i'm still having the QT platform issue:

 /opt/resolve/DaVinci\ Control\ Panels\ Setup/DaVinci\ Control\ Panels\ Setup
qt.qpa.plugin: Could not find the Qt platform plugin "wayland" in ""
qt.qpa.plugin: From 6.5.0, xcb-cursor0 or libxcb-cursor0 is needed to load the Qt xcb platform plugin.
qt.qpa.plugin: Could not load the Qt platform plugin "xcb" in "" even though it was found.
This application failed to start because no Qt platform plugin could be initialized. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem.

Available platform plugins are: xcb.

fish: Job 1, '/opt/resolve/DaVinci\ Control\ …' terminated by signal SIGABRT (Abort)

I've tried setting the QT_QPA_PLATFORM env var to wayland;xcb to no avail:

set QT_QPA_PLATFORM "wayland;xcb"

Re: Davinci Resolve / Control Panels Setup symbol lookup error

I don't know this error you receive

In the next update the libc++ will be included in the AUR package

Does it happen with Xorg too?

Re: Davinci Resolve / Control Panels Setup symbol lookup error

I ended up getting it to work using flatpak. The AUR package seems like a library mess, running DR containerized made it work without any extra configuration, plug n play also without having to manually download the file from BlackMagicDesign support.

Search for issues with DR and you'll realise DR devs use a very fragile method to link libraries that breaks often.
As it's proprietary code downstream maintainers have very little options to correct things.

Disliking systemd intensely, but not satisfied with alternatives so focusing on taming systemd.

clean chroot building not flexible enough ?
Try clean chroot manager by graysky

This seems to workaround the xcb missing plugin issue:

LD_PRELOAD="libQt6XcbQpa.so.6" /opt/resolve/DaVinci\ Control\ Panels\ Setup/DaVinci\ Control\ Panels\ Setup

I'll try to include in the next update
