pipewire does not work on i3.

[SOLVED] have a problem any help is appreciated. While i had gnome desktop enviroment i got my jack broken in pc sound port which i couldn't remove. Switched back to i3 now i can't route sound to speakers. At first my system taken my headphones as the main output and speakers was now visible. Still i have no sound after speakers was recognized.

Your desktop environment is largely irrelevant to whether your sound daemon works or not.

What's much more important is that you start it properly so you get an user session. Assuming you're using .xinitrc/startx make sure you've read: https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Xinit#xinitrc and retain the appropriate if conditional block that loads the /etc/X11/xinit/xinitrc.d/50-systemd-user.sh script, so you get a proper user session and the correct mechanisms can trigger to load your stuff.  And then check proper routings in pavucontrol or qpwgraph or so.

If that doesn't resolve your question what output do you get from

sudo fuser -v /dev/snd/*
systemctl --user status pipewire{,-pulse} wireplumber
aplay -lL
pactl list cards
pactl list sinks

post that wrapped in  [code][/code] tags.

Thank you for the well documented answer. Will check out throughoutly. I have removed the broken thing and now its functioning. I will write n case same thing happens to someone else .but can't switch to speakers when jack is plugged in. I have tried it with a broken earphone cable and same thing happens. no audio from speakers while jack is in. I guess it's about system being installed with a connected earphone. I will mark it solved.
