hi,
I just (i mean 2 days ago) fresh installed arch linux on a dell xps 14 9440 (intel core ultra 7 165h nvidia RTX 4050).
Since i'm stuck as i can't connect to internet to go forward
[EDIT]
Actually i think my ax88179 is a little visible part of a bigger issue with udev
i have tons of error with udev-worker being timed-out killed, and shutdown is hanging because of that
i tried linux-zen kernel but without improvement
[/EDIT]
i have a usb type-c hub (VIA Labs inc.) pluged in.
On this hub i have a usb-3 ethernet adapter (ASIX AX88179) plug to my local network with rj45 cable.
When i plug it the leds are blinking a few seconds, then they shut off.
With "ip link" command i can see that the interface is down.
I run "ip link set eth0 up", the interface is up, the leds light up again.
But i can't manage to to connect to my lan, not with dhcpcd, nor systemd-networkd, nor NetworkManager.
usb_modeswitch is installed.
kernel module ax88179_178a is loaded
I know the setup is working because when i boot from the archlinux install media key, the same interface is connecting automaticaly.
One thing is on installed system interface name is eth0 while from archlinux install media key it is like enps0
I am right now clueless and would greatly appreciate some guidance.
here is my full journalctl -b https://0x0.st/84Yr.txt

i add the subtle idea of testing linux-lts kernel, and BINGO, it works like a charm
so remain the question : why does it not work with current kernel ?
