[SOLVED] When upgrading, Pacman tries to download a non existent pkg

Hi there,
When running

sudo pacman -Syu

Pacman ends up trying to download gtk-update-icon-cache-1:4.18.5-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.zst which seemingly is non existent in any of the repos I have (even though I updated the list from the Arch Linux mirror list web page.

 gtk-update-icon-cache-1:4.18.5-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.zst failed to download

What am I doing wrong?

I think I have to mention that this arch install hasn't been updated since 2022.

Thank you for your help.

While the repo cleanup might become an issue,  and despite the status, eg. https://mirror.dogado.de/archlinux/extr … kg.tar.zst is indeed 404 but et. http://archlinux.thaller.ws/extra/os/x8 … kg.tar.zst is not

Hi, thank you for your reply. I did come across that information and modified my pacman.conf file accordingly. It only includes [core] and [extra] now.

I'm trying to do incremental updates right now using archive.archlinux.org as in

Server = https://archive.archlinux.org/repos/2024/02/01/$repo/os/$arch

Thank you for finding that mirror. After a couple of cache clearing and retrials, it went tip top.

I vaguely remember that I have to mark this post as SOLVED but I can't find where to edit the title. My apologies.
