Two keyboards with different layout

Hi everyone,

I have a laptop and a external keyboard, both of which use different layouts. I want one keyboard to use us layout and other to use Croatian layout. Is there a way to make this work without switching layouts manually?  Ideally, I want the system to recognize which keyboard is being used and apply the correct layout to that keyboard's input in real time.
I use Wayland, and most solutions that i found online are for X11.

What DE/WM are you using? All wayland solutions must be implemented by the WM.
