SD Card - Can see files, but not copy/view them

Hi

I am facing the following issue: I insert a SD Card into my reader. Using KDE, so I immediately get a notification and I am ask if I want to mount the drive. If I confirm, it is mapped and I can see the card in Dolphin. I can access it and I see all files on the card. However, if I try to open and view a jpg, it says: Loading filename failed. Loading meta information failed. Also if I want to play an mp4, I get an error message in VLC that my input can't be opened. When I try to copy the file from the card to my local disk, it says "could not read file /run/media...

For work, I use a Mac where I can read the files just fine, so I am sure that the card is not corrupt or broken.

Filesystem?
Do you get any IO errors in dmesg/the system journal?
