Strange Font Size / DPI Problem in XFCE4.4.0 [SOLVED]

Just installed Arch & XFCE4.4.0 for the very first time, and I seem to have a very strange fontsize problem:

- xorg is configured for 96 DPI @ 1600x1200
- Xft.dpi is set to 96
- Fonts and fontsize settings left on standard as came with installation

Gernerally after startup everything seems to be normal on first sight, in Swiftfox everything looks normal too, but when I open the XFCE4 Terminal or Mousepad the text in the window is too large (not the window name or the menu entries, just the content of the application).

When I look at the font settings in Terminal or Mousepad, it shows Monospace 12. Fontsetting in XFCE4 Settings -> User UI Settings is Sans 9.

I assume this has anything to do with the GTK+ config?
How do I change that?

P.S. I have no fonts.local file setup and also no .gtk2rc or something like that, so the only clues were /etc/X11/xorg.conf and .config/xfce4/Xft.xrdb, but both seem to be configured correctly. I can't believe, that I have to set the fontsize in all applications of question to 10 or 11 to look normal. I never have seen such a problem when I tried Ubuntu / Kubuntu, so there is definitly something wrong or missing.

terminal and mousepad simply don't use the default font size.
i filed a feature request for mousepad for using the system font size recently but afaik there is none for terminal yet.

just set the font size in those apps manually...

Re: Strange Font Size / DPI Problem in XFCE4.4.0 [SOLVED]

Indeed! I checked with a Kubuntu LiveCD, and it had all fonts on size 9, Xtf.dpi to 96 and xorg.conf just without option (defaulting to 75x75 dpi), and all looked fine.

So I removed the DisplaySize option from xorg.conf, and set everything to DejaVu Sans 9 and that's it. :-)
