[SOLVED] No Sound From Games On Valve Index(ALSA,Pipewire,Wireplumber)

Hello, I'm struggling to figure out why I'm not able to get any sound from my Valve Index when playing VR games. I'm not sure if it's relevant, but most of the profiles in pavucontrol show (unplugged) (unavailable) next to their name, and no matter which one I pick, I don't get any sound from the headset. I was able to get some sound by using aplay -L to get the PCM device name and then running speaker-test -Dhdmi:CARD=HDMI,DEV=2 -fdat -c2. I was able to hear static alternating between the speakers, so the hardware seems to be working, but I'm having a difficult time figuring out where the disconnect is. If it helps, I've included the output of aplay -L and lspci -k below. Any suggestions or advice are greatly appreciated.

Logically speaking if we map from the normal HDMI PCIs it "should" be device 2 so

pactl set-card-profile alsa_card.pci-0000_0d_00.1 output:hdmi-stereo-extra2

if the sink you get from that doesn't work try extra3, or alternatively the corresponding matching digital ones. Maybe throw in aplay -l so we see the actual cards that should be exposed

Well, that's embarrassing. You're absolutely right. I'm not sure how I got it in my head that the card I needed to be working with was alsa_card.pci-0000_11_00.4 - "Starship/Matisse HD Audio Controller", but apparently that wasn't it. I had only been trying and failing to find a profile that worked with that card. After trying profiles on the correct card, alsa_card.pci-0000_0d_00.1 - "Navi 21/23 HDMI/DP Audio Controller", I finally found one that routed audio through my Index speakers. Thank you so much for your help. I'm sorry that it ended up being something kind of silly.
