When I run `evince` with or without a filename, all that happens is that the command prompt is returned. No error message is displayed. I have tried re-installing evince, but nothing changes.
I'm not sure where to go from here. Usually you have an error message to go on. Where would I check for an error message?

https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Genera … way_street -- instead of this getting removed, you might want to elaborate on what the issue happened to be and how you solved it so that it may benefit others in a similar situation.
