Arch linux game on Steam proton don't lunch

So I am on Arch linux and a tiling window manager, DWM

I did installed all required Nvidia and intel drivers and steam then through running prime-run %command%, I did run the games I wanted, these games are Borderlands the pre sequal and Borderlands 2, I am running them after enabling proton for them in competibility tab to play the windows version.

The issue is they used to run time to time perfectly fine for few minutes and then freezing and giving me errors

and after that they didn't run even at lunch and gave me errors you can see in the attached photo

is this config issue, permission , what is this?

Thanks in advance.

Re: Arch linux game on Steam proton don't lunch

Hi! From the error screenshot, it seems the game is having trouble finding some native Windows DLLs when running via Proton, causing it to freeze or crash.

Here are some things you can try:

Change the Proton version in the Steam compatibility settings for the game (try Proton Experimental, Proton 7.x, or Proton GE) to see if that fixes the issue.

Verify the integrity of game files on Steam to make sure nothing is missing or corrupted.

Check that your Steam and game directories have correct permissions and are fully accessible to your user.

Confirm your Nvidia and Intel drivers are correctly installed and prime-run is working fine.

Run the game with Proton logging enabled to get more detailed errors:

PROTON_LOG=1 %command%

Then check the generated log file for clues.

Try running the game outside your tiling window manager (DWM), for example in a regular desktop environment like KDE or GNOME, as some window managers can cause issues.

If you want, I can help analyze your Proton log to pinpoint the issue.

Let me know if you need more help!
